'KIDS JAMAN NOW' = MICIN GENERATION ???
Hey Fellas! Did you know Indonesian
language has been improved so much? especially for most teenagers nowadays or
as known as kids zaman now or generasi micin, haha yes so many other names
to define a thing these days. ‘Kids zaman now’ is an other funny names for
responding strange and unreasonable behavior by kids in this generation which
they found unusual for kids in previous time. Well now it’s not only for kids,
but everything they think unusual for their era. Just like ‘mom zaman now’ ,
‘sepeda zaman now’ and anything.
‘Kids zaman now’ also being called
as ‘generasi micin’ yes micin generation! Hm well why? Micin or monosodium
glutamate( MSG) is used for food to make it more delicious just like in
meatballs until some snacks and instant food. So why kids in this generation
being called like that? As we know that in some news, kids in this era is doing
unusual things that is not for their age, just like dating and doing something
romantic, smoking, bullying, and anything. This generation makes people around
worried because they are doing things that is contrary to moral values in
Indonesia. Even though, they are still young and they are one of the next
generation for Indonesia.
Language also changed by ‘people
zaman now’, They're no longer using a formal language to communicate with each
other. Especially for kids, they are also no longer using formal language like
in our generation. Almost every word has it own slang. People do this because
it makes them sounds like they're up to date, yes as known as gaul!
These are the examples of
Indonesians slang:
- Baper (bawa perasaan)
This word describes a person who is
easy to get offended, touched, or mad by others’ sayings.
- Kepo
This word describes a type of person
who always want to know everything. This may seems good but if this gets over,
it is kinda annoying.
- Mager (males gerak)
As it means, this word describes a
person that is too lazy to move anywhere or too lazy to do something.
- Tercyduk
This word describes a bad action
that is caught right in the time. It si also also used by the police.
- LOL (laughing out loud)
This word appears from English but
also known in Indonesia.
These are only few examples from
many ‘gaul’ language right now in Indonesia that are not in KBBI. That is why
Adrian Godong, software programmer graduated from Bandung Institute of
Technology started making software ‘kitab gaul’ around May 2010, and launched
on August 17th 2010. Everyone can contribute that ‘gaul’ words and
also suggest a new words. For suggest a new words it will be elected first not
the vulgar one yaaa…… if there is vulgar it wont be elected.
For us this ‘kitab gaul’ is really
cool because Indonesian slangs actually make us easier to communicate with
others and make us more close. But sometimes, there are miscommunication
because some people haven’t know it yet, just like LOL yes, that is from
English and Indonesian also know it, but unfortunately, some people
misinterpret. LOL means Laughing Out Loud but some people think that’s mean
‘tolol’ which means stupid in Indonesia. That’s why we are no only need the
formal dictionary but also slang dictionary to reduce miscommunication.
Slang words also sounds weird if we
are over using it. We may use it in our daily life but still, do not ever
forget the proper Indonesian language. Just like what Dora Amalia (she is from
Indonesian Language Agency) said its not a big thing as long as we know where
and when to use it :D.
these are the examples from people around about 'kids zaman now'
THEY HAVE THE GAME ALSO XD
