What might the student do to enhance this perception of being charismatic?

Charismatic. When you hear this word for the first time, what comes up in your brain? Your perception in being charismatic are maybe someone who looks charming, attractive, good looking, have good manners, talkative, or any other positive adjective that you could simply say. Or maybe you can just say that someone is charismatic when you love to see them.

Charismatic actually means exercising a compelling charm that inspires devotion in others. Like what I have said before, people love to see a charismatic person. A charismatic person catches attention, and their personality is alluring to others, and we can see that in the way they deliver themself.

If we take a look at world nowadays, being charismatic is really important and it will bring us a lot of advantages. Charisma is one of the most essential traits of a succesful person. Especially for us, as a student, this will be really needed in your future no matter what position or what kind of job you’ll take. When you look at leaders, innovators, motivatiors, famous public speakers, or a generally succesful person, one quality that posed on them is charisma. So why did I say that charisma brings you advantages in life? A charismatic person has an ability to get people around them to help them achieve their ultimate goals. Every person that have charisma are the one that have a courage and the ability to instill belief inside others to support what they are doing and help them to get to where they want. People around us love to communicate with a charismatic person. You will meet and get to know a lot of person and there is always a chance of sharing anything. Even more, we can also influence, persuade, and make people also want what we want. So those reasons are some of the answers why being a charismatic person brings you a lot of advantages.

We can often see this in real life. For example if you are working in a group, would you trust someone that does not look like he has a charisma to lead your team as your leader? Would you keep listening or obey someone if they talk or guide you not in a proper way–like how the actual leades lead people? Ar another simple example, imagine yourself in a place that you don’t know where it is. You want to ask for help but no one is there so you walk across the road, and there are 2 man. The one on the right side is wearing a neat clothes, standing there with a bright smile, and everything in him are just look very organized. Then you look at the man on the left side. He looks messy, disorganized, and his expression looks groomy. Which one do you ask? Your answer will absolutely the one who looks well organized. Yes, because he has charisma. Charisma builds trust. Being trusted is the most important thing when you are working, especially if you are leaders. If your team can’t trust you, how can they set you as their role model or the person that they obey? How could you lead them to help you run your company towards the goals?

So now, after you finally understand what charismatic actaully is and why is it important, now what we need to talk about is: how to be charismatic? How to have a charisma? Some people are born with it  but some are just not. But that’s not important because you don’t need to have the charisma genetic to develop yourself. If your father is a great innovators or great public speaker, that does not mean that you are automatically a charismatic person or your father’s great skills are defended to you. Just as the same as leadership, being a charismatic person can be built, learned, and practiced. 

First of all, what is the most important thing when you meet a person for the first time? Yes, first impression. To show a charisma, you have to make your presence looks good. Dress well, and show your qualities. Second, make yourself feel comfortable. Third, when you talk with others, look at them in the eyes, be a good listener, give a proper answer or ask more questions. But remember all the manners such as do not interrupt them when they are talking or control your facial expression and show that you are interested. Avoid fidgeting or an uncomfortable movement. Focus in everything you do, and synchronize yourself to everything around you. Be organized. Any topic that you are talking about, be open minded. Be willing to listen and talk to any different kind of people. Make yourself get used to understand many points of view, see things from many perspectives. Synchronize between what you said and what you talk, be balanced. Say what you mean, verbally and non-verbally, that is one of the most important thing. Make sure all the nonverbal messages that you send to the other person you are talking to is corguent with the actual words that comes out from your mouth.

From the tips I have mentioned, we can see that most of them all are about having a good communication skills because in the way you communicate, people can see what kind of person you are. Us, student, mostly have goals to be a future leaders. Charismatic leaders are essentially very skilled communicators – individuals who are both verbally eloquent and can communicate with followers on a deep, emotional level. Good communicators are able to articulate a compelling or captivating vision, and are able to arouse strong emotions in their followers and this is what makes them become successful, beside their skill.

Remember, being a charismatic person can be practiced. Do not ever afraid to try and improve your character. Like what i have stated before, this also can be build and learned. Be confident and trust yourself. I’m sure that once you can build your charisma, people will listen to you, will give their attention to you. You will always move forward, and mostly, you’ll be successful.
